I would like to know, or see, what’s on, in or under your bedside table! So open those draws and bare your soul to us! Is there anything special there that has a story or a memory that you can tell us about? Books that you keep there to delve into from time to time? Trinkets that you don’t know where else to put? Let’s see!

On both sides of our king size bed, my husband & I have two black, glass top tables. The one on my side has my middle-of-the-night must haves. My skin tends to dry out more when it’s winter and the heat is on and I need my Lubriderm and chapstick nearby. Tissues are a must because I’m a sneezer. There’s also an alarm clock that I hardly use. lol

My husband Billy doesn’t really use his table. Our phone is there and a bear in a wicker chair that he gave me before we got married. That little orange notebook is something that we started over ten years ago. We’ll write love notes to each other in it and leave the book in a place where the other will find it. Each entry is dated and it’s been really nice to go back and read some of the things we wrote years ago. We keep it on that table until we want to write in it. That white basket underneath holds all the things that have to do with my mothers recent death. It has all the mass cards, sympathy cards, extra prayer cards, etc. Eventually it’ll be boxed away but I’m not ready yet.

And for those who may wonder…yes, our walls are red. Our bedroom is done in black, red and mirrors and is, shall we say, somewhat x-rated. lol

It really is the little things that matter.

Okay, back to the matter at hand. I’m supposed to list 6 weird things about myself.

That’s an easy one. LOL!!

1. I’ve had tourists take pictures of me. I was working in Greenich Village in NYC and some tourists from Texas asked if they could take a picture with me. They said they had never seen a punk rocker with a blue mohawk and safety pins earrings and wanted to show their friends. LOL

2. I dyed my hair blue to match a dress I wore to a friend’s wedding.

3. My husband & I were intimate in the bathroom during an extremely boring wedding (not the one in #2).

4. I can’t be in the same room as someone brushing their teeth. It makes me feel like I’m going to gag and vomit.

5. I had a nightmare about H.R. Pufinstuf when I was a kid (after only watching their show once) and I still remember it vividly. To this day, I get creeped out when I see their picture.

6. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had the feeling that I drowned in a previous life.

I asked my husband for 6 weird things about himself and here’s his list:

5. I didn’t smash cake in my wife’s face at our wedding even though I was encouraged from the sidelines, by her male cousins.

Yes, I’ve met quite a few famous people.

1) I met Bruce Springsteen right after ‘Born in the USA’ came out. I was working in Greenich Village at a clothing store called Unique (Broadway and 8th) and he came in to do some shopping. I helped him pick out some sunglasses and asked for his autograph. He wrote “Dear Joanne, you’re cute and just the right size too!” LOL I guess he likes us short girls.

2) I met and hung out with Ace Frehley a few times. First time was in Florida and then again a few months later in Brooklyn. This was back in the ’80’s, soon after he left KISS. I’m a major Ace fan so meeting him was great! I have a lot of pictures and a lot of good memories from those times.

3) We (Billy & I) met the guys from Godsmack right before we moved to Florida. They played in Brooklyn and a friend got us backstage passes. They were cool as hell! We got their autograph as well.

Let’s see…there’s a few more that I’m forgetting. I hung out with John Kelly, drummer for Type O Negative when he was in a band called Slider with our friend Bob. My uncle Anthony was in a doo wop group in the 50’s called The Passions. (click on the link and he’s the one on the left, listed as Tony Armato). They did a reunion show (along with other doo wop bands) at The Beacon Theater once and it was great seeing him up on stage. I met former NYC mayor Ed Koch, got stepped on the foot by racist bastard Al Sharpton while on jury duty, met Sebastian Bach and Carl Anderson when they were in Jesus Christ Superstar. (Carl was also in the movie..he played Judas).

There’s probably more that I’m forgetting and if it comes to me, I’ll add them in.
